Thank you for using pluCast ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our podcast generation platform.
By using pluCast, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Email Login Information
- Email address (for authentication and communication)
- Name (for personalization)
- Password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing)
1.2 Social Login Information
In addition, or in-place of Email login, you may sign into pluCast using Google, Apple, or LinkedIn. We receive your basic profile information (name, email only) to create your account. Besides this basic profile information, pluCast DOES NOT have access to any other information in your Google, Apple, or LinkedIn accounts (see section 1.5 for the separate optional Google Drive and YouTube Playlist feature)
1.3 Payment Information
- Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor
- We do not store credit card numbers on our servers
- We retain transaction records for billing and accounting purposes
1.4 Content You Upload
- PDF documents, text files, and audio transcripts you submit for processing
- YouTube URLs and associated metadata
- Generated podcast audio files and transcripts
1.5 (Optional) YouTube and Google Drive Integration
- For automated YouTube and Drive access you must create a direct relationship with Google and create your own Google Cloud project and OAuth credentials.
- You store those credentials securely with pLucast in an encrypted vault
- You specify which YouTube playlists and/or Drive Folders you want to use
- Plucast uses your provided credentials SOLELY to access content in your specified YouTube playlists and Google Drive folders. PluCast DOES NOT access any other Youtube, Google or Google Drive content.
- You can revoke access at any time through your Google account settings
Note: For the avoidance of any doubt, for automated YouTube and Google Drive Integration, you manage a direct relationship with Google with pluCast providing only technical infrastructure to facilitate access. pluCast is not a party to your agreement with Google.
1.6 Usage Data
- Features used and frequency
- Processing jobs and their status
- API usage for rate limiting and billing
1.7 Technical Data
- IP address and browser type
- Device information
- Cookies for session management
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process your content and generate podcasts
- Manage your subscription and process payments
- Monitor usage for rate limiting and abuse prevention
- Send service-related communications
- Provide and improve the pluCast service
- Generate aggregated analytics (anonymized)
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Storage Locations
- User data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL database)
- Uploaded files are stored in Supabase Storage (cloud infrastructure)
- Generated podcasts are stored in cloud storage with public access for playback
3.2 Security Measures
- All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords hashed using bcrypt
- OAuth tokens encrypted at rest
- Row-level security for database access
- Regular security audits
4. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data. We share data only with:
4.1 Service Providers
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Supabase (database and storage)
- OpenAI, Google, ElevenLabs (AI and text-to-speech processing)
- Content from your uploads is sent to these providers for processing
4.2 Legal Requirements
- When required by law, court order, or government request
- To protect our rights, safety, or property
5. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active
- Uploaded content: Retained based on your subscription tier
- Generated podcasts: Retained until you delete them or account closure
- Payment records: Retained as required for tax/legal compliance (typically 7 years)
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your generated podcasts
- Revoke OAuth connections
- Opt out of non-essential communications
Note: Deletion requests remove active user account information and content; backup copies may persist for a limited time.

7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for:
- Session management and authentication
- Remembering your preferences
- Security (CSRF protection)
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Children's Privacy
pluCast is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us immediately.
9. International Users
Our servers and databases are located in the United States. By using pluCast, you consent to data transfer to the US.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
